Memoir Writing Tip #1
If you are starting to write your memoir and you are stuck, remember you are writing a magnified memory— not an entire autobiography. Many beginning writers get stuck as they are writing an autobiography masked as a memoir. Uh-uh! Focus on a memory and related details, and begin expanding that moment in time. There is a story in the memory. Dig deeper and peel away the layers. You will find what you need, if you selected a significant memory—moment in time.
